Looking for something healthy to pack for your kid to school? You don't need to look far. We made a list of some really good snack options you can make for your child to take to school. Before we go into the details, we made a cute video.
Dates filled with walnuts
This is quite possible the easiest snack you can make. Just take a madjool date, stuff it with walnuts or pecans. You can make a lot all at once and store it in the refrigerator for a long time. They don't go back, and they really are a treat!
Halva Almond Butter sandwich
Have you tried our Halva Almond Butter?? If you haven't, we recommend you do, and once you do, let your kid have a taste! It's a great alternative to the other chocolate spreads-- more nutrient filled and much more satiating. If they don't like the texture, try our Honey Roasted Peanut Butter, or Cacao Coconut Almond Butter!
We love making energy balls-they're easy (and even fun!) to make, and you almost can't go wrong by adding anything you want to the recipe.
Here's our favorite recipe:
In a food processor combine:
- jar of maple almond butter
- 12 madjool dates
- cup whole oats
- tbsp chia seeds
- tbsp grinded flax seeds
- tsp cinammon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup shredded coconut
Veggie Sticks with Peanut Sauce
Cut up cucumbers, carrots, celery. Add a side of our delicious peanut sauce so they'll actually enjoy eating! For the recipe, click here
Sweet Potato Fries
This is a really easy one- all you need to do is cut up a sweet potato into "french fry" size, add some coconut oil and place in oven until they look brown and ready. They're really delicious even when they're cold!
